The State Hydrography Department has acquired two unmanned aerial vehicles that will be involved in the implementation of tasks to ensure navigation on inland waterways.
The State Hydrography Department explained that UAVs will help to quickly carry out mapping and monitoring, to maintain databases of cartographic and topographic information at a modern level. It will also allow us to keep navigational charts up to date and to make necessary changes quickly and with high accuracy.
“UAVs will significantly facilitate the fulfillment of the tasks assigned to it by the State Hydrography,” said the head of the institution, Alexander Schiptsov.
